The nRF7002 EBII is our next-generation Evaluation Board designed for advanced prototyping and development with the nRF70 Series Wi-Fi 6 companion ICs. It offers enhanced flexibility for integrating Wi-Fi with a wide range of hosts, including the nRF54 Series SoCs such as nRF54LM20, making it ideal for cutting-edge low-power wireless applications. The nRF7002 EBII is the recommended platform for developers who need robust evaluation capabilities and seamless interoperability within Nordic’s ecosystem.
For projects requiring Bluetooth LE, 802.15.4, and Wi-Fi connectivity, the nRF54 Series combined with the nRF7002 EBII provides a powerful foundation for next-generation IoT designs. This pairing enables developers to leverage advanced features like ultra-low power operation, high-performance multiprotocol support, and scalable architecture.
While the nRF7002 DK remains a great all-in-one option for Wi-Fi development with the nRF5340 SoC, and the nRF7002 EK is suited for Arduino form-factor prototyping with other Nordic hosts, the nRF7002 EBII is the go-to choice for future-proof designs and complex integrations.
For accurate current measurement during development, we recommend the Power Profiler Kit II (PPK2). It works seamlessly with the nRF7002 EBII, DKs, and custom boards, measuring from sub-µA to 1 A and logging up to 500 days, ensuring precise power profiling for energy-critical applications.

nRF7002 Expansion Board
The nRF7002 Expansion Board is a plug-in board for adding Wi-Fi 6 connectivity to a Nordic Thingy:53.
It contains everything needed to get started developing Wi-Fi applications on the Thingy:53. The board connects with a PCB edge connector to the Thingy:53’s expansion slot and uses the Thingy’s nRF5340 multiprotocol System-on-Chip (SoC) as a host device for the nRF7002 Wi-Fi Companion IC.
