Nordic Semiconductor, a global leader in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, won the award at the International Integrated Circuit & Component Exhibition and Conference (IIC), which was held in Shenzhen, China, back in December 2025. Global media and technology company AspenCore hosts this annual event. Selected by AspenCore’s global panel of senior industry analysts and users, the nRF54L15 SoC was awarded for its impressive performance capacity in RF technology, multi-protocol compatibility, and ultra-low-power consumption.
As a key member of Nordic’s nRF54L Series, the nRF54L15 SoC has set the benchmark for wireless connectivity in the IoT sector since its launch. It achieves an optimal balance of performance and power consumption.
Its integrated 128 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor doubles its processing power, while its 128 MHz RISC-V coprocessor triples its processing efficiency. Plus, the nRF54L15 features 1.5 MB of non-volatile memory (NVM) and 256 KB of RAM, providing ample space for program execution and data storage for complex IoT applications.
It also integrates an ultra-low-power, multi-protocol 2.4 GHz radio supporting Bluetooth® Low Energy 6.0 (including its channel sensing feature), Bluetooth Mesh, Thread, Matter, Amazon Sidewalk, and proprietary 2.4 GHz protocols (4 Mbps mode). It can also run Wi-Fi protocol stacks via companion ICs from the nRF70 series, meeting wireless connectivity demands across scenarios such as smart homes, wearables, and industrial IoT. Its radio transmit power can reach up to 8 dBm, with receive sensitivity of -96 dBm in 1 Mbps Bluetooth Low Energy mode and -101 dBm in IEEE 802.15.4 mode, ensuring stable communication and long-range transmission in complex environments.
Regarding security, the nRF54L15 SoC integrates secure boot, firmware updates, and storage capabilities. It utilizes advanced security, including TrustZone® isolation, tamper detection, and a cryptographic engine with side-channel leakage protection. This comprehensive approach fully meets stringent security regulations in the IoT era, providing multi-layered safeguards for user data and device connectivity.
Additionally, the nRF54L15 incorporates a 14-bit ADC (8 channels, up to 2 MS/s sampling rate), a global RTC (operating at 0.8–uA@3.0V during system shutdown), and a rich array of digital interfaces (high-speed SPI/UART, 4 sets of SPI/UART/TWI, PDM, I2S, etc.), supporting high-resolution analog sensor measurements and multi-peripheral expansion.
Packaging options include a 6x6 mm QFN48 (31 GPIOs) and a 2.4x2.2 mm WLCSP (32 GPIOs), both pin-compatible with other nRF54L Series devices, such as the nRF54L10 and nRF54L05 SoCs. This offers flexible adaptability for product designs with varying sizes and functionality requirements.
Additionally, the nRF54L15 SoC is cost-optimized for high-volume deployments, balancing high performance with affordability.
Since its release, the nRF54L15 SoC has gained widespread recognition from numerous enterprises for its cutting-edge design and functionality.
This award not only recognizes the capabilities of the nRF54L15 SoC but also affirms Nordic's long-term dedication to advancing low-power wireless connectivity.
As a pioneer and market leader in Bluetooth Low Energy, Nordic has shipped billions of chips since launching the nRF52 Series. Its solutions are widely adopted in wireless PC peripherals, gaming devices, fitness products, medical equipment, and smart home applications.
